Culinary Holiday in Spain:
One week of gastronomic highlights in Mojácar, Andalusia
"The world belongs to those, who enjoy good food.”
Discover the Essence of Andalusian Cuisine at Cortijo El Sarmiento!
Holidays are way more than only sun, sand, and relaxation. It’s the unexpected delights, the coincidental discoveries in local eateries, and the culinary treasures that truly make a holiday memorable. Do you agree?
If you enjoy the good things in life, we’d love to invite you – to Cortijo El Sarmiento’s Culinary Week!
Dive into the rich flavours of Andalusia, and engage in delightful conversations over a good glass of wine or sherry, all with our Cortijo setting the perfect backdrop.
Navigating the maze of touristy spots can be quite overwhelming. That’s why we’ve put together a unique experience just for you.
A Gastronomic Journey in the Heart of Andalusia. We’ll take you to some of our favourite spots in real Andalusia, and of course, we also pamper you “at home” …
Begin your day with the aroma of recently brewed coffee and the subtle aroma of a good cup of tea. Crisp oven-fresh rolls are waiting for you, just like local fruits and honey from Sierra de los Filabres, as well as our homemade jams. Enjoy the Spanish tostadas, freshly squeezed orange juice, muesli, an assortment of cheeses and cold cuts, and eggs made just the way you like them.
But that’s only the beginning. Each day promises a new culinary adventure.
A visit to a local market is an absolute “must-do” on any gourmet tour. Just the sight of all those freshly picked vegetables, juicy fruits, golden olive oil, famous Iberico ham, and tomatoes in all shapes and shades of red makes your mouth water.
Join us for our signature cooking class, where the iconic Spanish paella takes centre stage. Learn the art of cooking the perfect paella at the most famous Chiringuito (beach bar)in our area.
Explore the world of olives with a visit to a nearby olive mill. Discover the nuances of olive oil from different varieties and dive deep into the history of this delightful fruit.
Then there are the tapas, another a-list culinary treat in Spain. We’ll guide you to the best spots, share the tradition behind eating them standing up, and unveil the secret connection between tapas and lids.
The week closes off with another highlight, the Cortijo Gourmet Evening. Our Andalusian chef, Ron, prepares a 5 or 6-course menu using the best local ingredients. Each menu is paired with a wine, hand-picked by our in-house sommelier, Yvonne. Dive deep into the world of wines and sherries with an exclusive tasting session.
In essence, this week is a tribute to your love for travel and gourmet experiences, as well as to our love for the area we chose to live in. Embrace the laid-back Andalusian lifestyle – unwind, savour, indulge, and create unforgettable memories.
